My Fitness Coach works!
I have been exercising with My Fitness Coach for 6 months consistently and will continue to do so because I am really seeing and feeling the results. It has been slow to experience the results because I was am over fifty andwas 40 lbs overweight when I started and had not exercised consistently in 20 years, in addition I have a bad knee and back. My main goal when beginning the exercise commitment was to get stronger and feel better. I started very slowly with the 15 minute option 3 days a week and now I work out 5 days a week for 30 minutes. It's not great fun, but it's easy to get through the workout and I feel really great when I'm done, and it's never exactly the same because I can control the music, environment and difficulty. I used to pick and choose but now I let Maya decide what I'm going to do everyday and I'd say she's doing a good job. I find that I don't get enough ab work in so I do crunches on a balance ball after the workout and then I feel like I've worked everything. Also I use hand weights with the plies even if Maya doesn't suggest it. Went to a family reunion last weekend (and wore a sleeveless blouse!)and was validated for my efforts with the great comments and reactions. I've only lost 10 lbs (because that really wasn't my focus initially), but I look 20 lbs thinner and I cannot believe how strong I am. Going up stairs, no problem! Lower back and knee pain are much improved! I can tell I've lost fat and gained muscle. I couldn't ask for more!

READ ME!!!
I am not one to typically write a review, but wanted to after depending on reviews to make my decision. I was a little leary about buying My Fitness Coach. The reviews were so mixed. Received yesterday (may 25, 2010). While I got home late- I decided to at least check it out.

For the beginning - you go through a fitness/body test.
- body measurements, heart rate test (if you have a heart rate monitor you can use), and short fitness test

You can then decide what you want to focus on, tummy, overall health, upper body, etc.

now to the body - the best way to describe - do you remember several years ago when McDonalds gave away those dvd's for cardio, yoga, etc. This game is set up like that. And it's not really a game - It's more of an Exercise DVD that bases your workout on your input.

Other games I have --
Wii Fit Plus - enjoy it better than original Wii Fit. Like the games and the ability to create my own workout with Yoga and Strength moves. Just not enough exercises or structure.

EA Active - could be a great game. Gives me a good sweat - but doesn't always register my moves and is a little slow at times.

worthwhile, but a few small complaints
i love it overall, but wish they would change the following:
use it with the wii board to weigh yourself, so i don't have to weigh myself elsewhere & enter it in manually here.
give you the option to skip the weekly(?) workout test.

i guess that's about it. again, i pretty much love it but have found it would be perfect if those 2 things were fixed. one day i just felt like doing a stretching program & they had me doing jumping jacks against my will. ;-)

The perfect workout... and I've tried a lot
I've tried a lot of home workouts and I keep coming back to this one. I had this when it was Yourself Fitness for XBox and bought it for the Wii after trying Wii Fit and Ea Active.

The good - Great workouts that are custom tailored to your needs. The workout changes every day as does the focus of the workout. Unlike previous versions, you can change the length of the yoga workout. (The older version did about a 20 minute yoga routine without any option of increasing or decreasing time) It uses the gear you have, like weights, a step and stability ball. It tracks your progress and updates your focus every 10 or so workouts as well as adjusting several times for difficulty during your workout. You have about 8 music options and 8 background options which I like. The yoga option is great for when you want to do some activity but not a hard core workout. An addition to the older version, this one not only asks for your weight to track, but also body measurements. All this gives you a home workout that is effective and doesn't get boring. It stores separate profiles for the people that use this, so you can have several people using the game at different levels.

The bad - This Wii version dropped the recipies and calorie tracker that was on Yourself Fitness. Also, it didn't do much to improve the graphics. I would have liked to have seen more defined graphics. (But this isn't a role playing or shooter game, it's a workout so high def graphics aren't exactly imperitive to the usefullness of the game.)It lost a star for the graphics, the workouts are 5 star though.

All in all, I've had 3 kids and used this each time to get back in shape. I love it. Also a friend of mine who lost 70 pounds started off her weight loss by using this. My husband has used it a few times and it gives him a good workout also. It's just great.

#1 fitness program and weight loss program for the wii
I have game fly so I'm able to try out the different fitness programs the wii has to offer. I got the wii fit when it first came out and was happy with the results I got in improving my core and yoga but I wasn't loosing the weight. I couldn't lose the last ten pounds of my pregnancy weight. I wasn't over weight but the last 10lbs just wouldn't come off. After getting this I was able to drop the last 10 lbs and more. I now weigh less than I did when I got married. I should say that I am an active person, I play softball and soccer and even with those I still wasn't able to lose the last 10lbs. I like the fact I could use my own weights and stability ball and the workouts are always mixed up. I've lost inches in the waist and I've toned my arms and legs. When people ask me how I lost the weight I always tell them its this game. The last benifit is being able to do the workouts with my husband, we just give our 3 year old an art project and then do the group workout. Don't hesitate start it now.
